Kenya Days 10 and 11

We left Amboseli National Park and flew to Ol Pejeta Conservancy. This conservancy is different from the national parks we have visited because it is fenced in. They are known for their protection of black and white rhinos. Here you can find the last two female white northern rhinos. It was a stark reminder of what humanity has done to these animals.

On our drive, we stopped at the equator. We have now visited the equator in two different countries in the last year! We thought that was pretty cool!

Once we arrived at the hotel, we had no more scheduled game drives. It was a full day to just rest and relax before the last leg of the trip. This is where my siblings and I organized a beautiful outdoor dinner for our parents 40th anniversary. It was absolutely wonderful and a very special way to celebrate my parents!
We spent the whole next day relaxing and exploring the grounds of the hotel. We went to the animal orphange, the pool, and completed the hedge maze! David was definitely the king of the maze and had it memorized after the first turn! He then ran it three more times and rescued me when I was hopelessly lost.

We will be saying goodbye to this beautiful view of Mt. Kenya (the second tallest mountain on the continent) and make our way to the Masai Mara for the final part of our tour!
